First-Generation Day Celebration!

Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 4pm-7pm.
Since 2017, the nation has celebrated National First-Generation day on November 8th. National First-Generation celebrations honor first-generation college students, faculty, staff, and alumni on the anniversary of the Higher Education Act of 1965 — the legislation that expanded education resources and the federal educational opportunity programs called TRIO.
Please join us for our state’s 2nd Annual First-Generation Day Celebration! Wednesday, November 9, 2022; 4pm – 7pm via Zoom.
Program:
- 4-4:15pm – Welcome
- 4:15-4:20pm- Transition
- 4:20-5:20pm- Session 1: Personal well-being (all participants)
- 5:20-5:30pm- Break/Transition
- 5:30-6pm Session 2: Scholarships Tips (all participants)
- 6–6:45pm Panel (College and Pre-College pathways)
- 6:45-7pm Closing/Raffles
Program cost is $20 per participant. This event is for all College/Pre-College participants! All funds raised by this event will support our WSTA Scholarship fund!
Registration is now live (linked here) and will close at 12pm on Wednesday, November 9. We especially encourage programs who do not already have a first-generation celebration to join us!
